Personal Statement
I have had a passion for swimming since I was seven years old when I joined the Rays YMCA year round swim team. I achieved my first long term swimming goal when I was 12. I qualified for YMCA Nationals in the breast stroke. This was a tremendous moment in my life because I knew then that I wanted to compete at Junior Nationals and continue my swimming career in college. Last year, I realized I needed to work even harder than before in order to reach my goal. I switched teams to Nation`s Capital Swimming with Jeremy Linn as my coach. This was huge commitment for me because I travel an hour each way six/seven days a week. In addition, I work part time as a soccer referee to pay for my gas to commute as well as maintain a 3.2 overall at school. I feel I am extremely coachable, dedicated and a hard worker not only in the water, but in the classroom as well. Please take me into consideration for your swim team.
