Ever since I was a little boy, the pool has always been my passion. At the age of 9, I made my zone team and helped them win a championship title for the state of Virginia. From there, I secured the title of high point winner and the fastest 200-yard freestyle for 9-10 years olds in the state of Virginia. When I was 12 years old, I helped my 400 Medly, 400 Free, and 200 IM relay team become Virginia Age Group Champions. In February of 2020, my high school teammates and I fought our way to victory in the VISAA state championships. I continue to hone my skills as a swimmer and look forward to my future in my swimming career.
Outside of the pool, I take part in my school's advocacy group for social justice in the Richmond area. Helping people less fortunate than me has been something I am really passionate about, and I would like to continue my commitment to the community at large. In addition to this group, I play guitar and trumpet for my jazz band and participate in music groups outside of school.
Swimming has really shaped my life into what it is today. It has taught me self-discipline and the true meaning of hard work. In fact, swimming has helped me become an excellent student-athlete, as I have built up the discipline to put my energy into two things at once. My goal for college is to bring this discipline and hard work ethic to a team so that we have the best chance at victory.
