I want to get a mechanical engineering degree because I love to fix things. I think a lot about how to make something work better. My grades show my academic skill, but even more, they show my hard work. I have been a club swimmer since I was 7 years old. When I took a year off from club swimming in middle school, I saw my times drop dramatically. I discovered I was a better swimmer than track or soccer. I learned that I really loved swimming, loved competing, and loved working hard. In high school, my coach can use me pretty much anywhere he needs me. I love free style sprinting, but my breast stroke and fly stroke are strong enough to help the team. I am very fast off the block. I don't let anyone out work me. As captain of the boy's high school swim team this coming year, I look forward to encouraging my team to take first place at State AA for the second time in school history. I am excited about college next year and swimming in college will make the experience so much better!
