Ryan Hakes '17 Recruiting Profile

Dear Coach,

My goal for swimming in college is to improve as an athlete and student, while qualifying for the NCAA Championships. I am a very determined and sociable swimmer. I would love to be a part of the team atmosphere that college swimming provides. I have not always had the ideal height or strength, so I have learned the art of hard-work. I realize that to get where I want to be, I need to dedicate myself fully to swimming and my education. My times have continued to improve over my last few seasons, while adjusting to some major team changes. This past summer, after my freshman year of high school, I qualified for YMCA Nationals. I have a lot of room for improvement and I will continue to work hard to maximize my potential, in and out of the pool. I attend Bay Port High School. Attending a school like Bay Port that offers very rigorous courses has helped me with tough school work, while taking many Honors classes. I am an extremely hard worker and love to be pushed in practice by my teammates and coach. I am open to any suggestions that my coach offers.
