My name is Artjoms, but in America people call me Art. I was playing tennis since I was 4 years old. In 2007 I started to compete in tournaments and was really successful. I have over 60 tournament titles in Latvia and neighbor countries - Estonia and Lithuania. In 2012 I was part of the Latvian National Team in Tennis Europe Winter Cups. Same year I finished 3rd in Latvian Summer Championship and also I have spent 2 weeks in Mouratoglou Tennis Academy in France, where I was able to learn a lot from incredibly professional coaches. I have played over 50 matches all around the Europe and was able to get some great results in doubles. In 2013 I got injured during a tournament and took a year to recover. During summer In 2014 I was practicing in country of Georgia and continuing practicing in Latvia, but my parents were not really able to keep paying for my tennis, so I decided it was time to change things. In 2015, I got accepted to Apple Valley Christian School in California. I am practicing every day in a local Spring Valley Country Club, where I was able to win the high school tournament called "King of the Desert" in doubles my sophomore year, and both singles and doubles my junior year. I have participated in Southern California USTA tournaments and was doing good with overall record 6-4, but could not keep financing such expensive tournaments. I started to aim at the USA when I was 11 years old and I suppose that I can become a great addition to your team. I am smart, funny, communicative person, fluently speaking 4 languages. I have desire to grow even more as a tennis player and as a student, this is why it is my dream to study in American university, because it would fulfull my goals to become a student and a tennis player that I have always wanted to become.
