Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Christian Duarte, and all through my tennis career, every coach I have worked with or been around has told me that my work ethic stood out from most of my peers. These Coaches include Joey Rive, once the head coach for the TCU men's tennis team, and Dave Licker, coach of junior tennis stars Mitchell Krueger and Dane Webb. They also include three former top college players: David Kuczer, Ryan Recht, and Neil Kenner. David Kuczer played line one singles and doubles for SMU, Ryan Recht played for The University of Indiana, where he was on line one doubles for four years as well as line one singles for two, and Neil Kenner played lines two, three, and four, also at The University of Indiana. I am sixteen years old, stand 5'7", and weigh 157 pounds. I started playing tennis at age six at a local camp and haven't missed a day since. The intensity that I bring to the practice court is no different than my intensity in competition. I feel that my intensity can help a team practice by not allowing the pace to falter, and to help raise it again if it does. I have not yet decided on any geographic factors determining what type of college I wish to attend, and am open to anything right now. Competition wise, I wish to play at the highest level that I possibly can, whatever division this turns out to be. I wish to study about analysis, but have not specifically chosen what type of analysis, or what I plan to use my degree for.
