I began playing tennis my freshman year in high school but I soon learned that I had a love for the game. I rarely played in varsity matches my first season, but I did join a USTA Junior Tennis team the summer after my freshman year (2011) where I began playing a lot of good players. That is also where I think I won my first real singles tennis match against a player from a rival school in our county's school district. A man in our community had given me some help with my strokes when I first began playing and my Junior team's coach also helped a great deal with developing my strokes. The begining of my sophomore year I began taking lessons from Jashwa Russell who has really helped me with a lot of aspects of my game and has brought a lot of improvment to my game. This year I have been playing the number two singles position compared to playing mostly exibition matches last year. Although I am less experienced than many of the players I face, I have had success in my matches. I see the major improvements that have been made in my game and I work hard daily to continue improving.
