Personal Statement
You have never met a person and a tennis player like me. I play my game the way I live my life, with integrity, principle and heart. With my mathematical propensity (I have often been compared to Dustin Hoffman in the movie Rainman), the ability to solve algebraic equations in my head and my aptitude for chess, I know how to strategically plan my moves on the court. This makes me not only a good player but also a smart one, which is the reason why I’m a prime candidate for a Business and Finance degree.
I’m extremely passionate about tennis and what it’s brought me in my life. I’ve learned discipline, commitment, work ethic, fighting through adversity and respect. As a singles player, my forehand is my best shot but my secret weapon is my backhand and skills at the net and the fact that I’m a doubles specialist. I have the unique ability to play both single's and double's, as evidenced by my record of being number 1 in the state of Nevada in both categories when I was in the 14's division.
Tennis has been in my life since I was 8 years old. It has been such an honor to learn respect, discipline, teamwork, to gut out and fight until the end, sportsmanship and to lose with dignity. It would be a shame not to be able to continue that into my collegiate years. To play college tennis would be an honor as I find as I’m growing older to cherish everything that tennis has brought me and I want that experience to continue.
