Personal Statement
I am a senior at Carson High School, I would like to pursue a career in medicine while expanding my horizons through college tennis. I began playing tennis two years ago and have participated in the Tahoe Tennis Academy each summer led by Justin Clark, a USTA coach since 1996. Mr. Clark has coached over ten All-American level Collegiate student-athletes, and four college teams, all with national rankings; in addition to local, sectional and national junior players. Under his tutelage my skill-set has rapidly improved. I have grown up in a small town in the Sierra Nevada’s, but my mother has ensured that I have gathered real life adventures through experiences gathered while camping, backpacking, bicycling, fishing, kayaking, scuba diving, windsurfing and traveling through Canada, Mexico and Honduras. My parents divorced when I was six and through that event I have learned to adapt to dissimilar environments with divergent rules and requirements. I know how to make the best of what life deals me. My mother has instilled in me the desire to attain good grades (GPA = 4.3), gain diverse perspectives, and make good personal choices which will assist me in getting into college. During high school, I have also played basketball and been on the Varsity Baseball team. These experiences have taught me to be a good teammate and given me leadership experience which I will apply this year as a student council representative. I am the well-rounded addition to any team. I can lead or fit in where most needed.
