Personal Statement
I aspire to compete at a high level as a student athlete, and look forward to playing for a program that will facilitate my growth and development throughout my college playing career. It is my goal to represent a university and contribute to high levels of team success. I am someone who works hard to reach my potential; and the potential of of my team. Academically, it is my goal to study a topic that will get me into a career with sports, whether it be in Coaching, Administration, Journalism, Medicine, or Business, I hope to follow my passion for athletics and competition as I transition from being a competitor to becoming an industry leader.
I am a highly motivated student athlete, and am very eager and excited to become better both academically and athletically throughout my college years. I am very motivated to find a college program that enables me excel in the classroom and on the tennis court; I look forward to being a solid representative both on campus and while representing my school in competition.
I excel in a team environment, preferring it to individual competition. My best results have been achieved throughout my high school seasons and in USTA Team Cup competitions versus elite players. In my first three years at Findlay High School, I have a combined record of 74-16, and I am poised to break the record for career wins during my senior season. My Junior year, I qualified for the OHSAA Division 1 State singles tournament; one of just 16 players to qualify.
I am confident that I will continue to excel in a program that includes an excellent coach and an assembly of motivated, high quality teammates. I am currently focusing on improvements that will enable me contribute to my college team's success, both immediately and throughout my 4 year career. I enjoy growing as a tennis player and striving to achieve my full potential. I look forward to enrolling in a college program that challenges me academically, and offers me the opportunity to compete for, earn and contribute to team success.
