Santiago Muhala '24 Recruiting Profile

Santiago Muhala (04/04/06) is attending 11^th grade a Tompkins HS in Katy Texas.

• Santiago started playing tennis at 4 years old.
• At 8 years old Santiago won the National Little Mo in Austin Texas. (https://mcbtennis.org/tournament/2014)
• At 11 years old Santiago became #1 in Boys 12’s in Texas according to USTA ranking. (https://m.tennislink.usta.com/rankinghome/rankinghome.aspx) file pdf attached.
• At 12 years old Santiago reached the final in Orange Bowl in Miami (the main International tennis tournament for Boys 12’s).

• Santiago’s ranking in 12’s was within the 3 best players in USTA and he was nominated to be part of Team USA to play against Canada and other countries.
• In 2019-2020 he received a full boarding scholarship from IMG (school and tennis)
• Due to Pandemic/Covid-19, Santiago didn’t return to IMG in 2020-2021 but he received invitations to do camps at IMG in 2021 & 2022.

Santiago so far was sponsored by the following brands as Tennis ambassador:

• 2018 Volkl (tennis racquets) and New Balance (apparel).
• 2019 Head (tennis racquets) and New Balance (apparel).
• 2020 Head (tennis racquets and apparel).
• 2021 and 2022 Dunlop (tennis racquets and apparel).

Santiago was doing online school (2021-2022) and training in Buenos Aires Argentina when he could play, he had many body injuries due to his growing. Today Santiago is 6.3 feet tall

This school year (22/23)  Santiago went back to public school to focus on his school work, because he was doing homeschooled for 2 year due to training and traveling for tennis tournaments.   

Santiago' strengths as Tennis player: Strong Physically - Powerful Serve and Forehand - Good footwork - Very disciplined to train - Committed and supportive with the team.
