Hello Dear Coaches,
I feel as though, I am a good candiate for a few reasons. I have a deep fondness for both academics and athletics. I have had an aperciation for knowledge for as long as I can remember, I love participating in class. In fifth grade, I had teacher who was "annoyed" with me because I would always stay after class for a few minutes to ask questions om the subject for that day. Even though he was ready to go he would still take that time to help me. I feel that knowledge is very crucial in life and must be treated as so. One last exsample of how much I enjoy learning would be that I watch the history channel often instead of other programs and channels.
As for Athletics, Thats just as important to me; If not a little more so. I absoultely love athletes and the work that is put behind it.. Athletics is a way of life for many people including myself. Its very important in life. It can range from the person who is staying in shape to the pro athlete. Athletics is more than the physcial aspect. I have heard some people say "Tennis is just hitting the ball back and forth" and "Football is just people tackling each other" . This is far from the truth. There is some much strategy behind every single sport. People, I feel aperciate those who push themselves to the limit. In atheltics, you have to keeping pushing your limit to improve. You have competion that forces you to improve becuase you dont want them to pass you. Yet its supposed to be a friendly rivalry. You are supposed push each other and try to surpass each other but come out the best of friends. I have conntionously done Karate since age four. I cannot imagine being without it. Its a way of life. To me its much more than a sport. Through it I have learned such competition. I have had sparring matches with many of my Dojo brothers and cohorts, We would fight each other with all the intensity we had. We fight each other until our Kyoshi(Master Instructor) said Hamje(stop). Then afterwards we shake hands or hug and thank each other for a good match. There was no anger towards one another despite the few bruises or marks left afterwards. I feel that through sports, you develop great chartersitics not only importanted for sports but life. These include respect, mental tougness, honor, integrity, hardwork, fairplay, trustworthiness, unity or teamwork and love of competition. I have been able to learn these through all the sports Ive been fourtnate enough to play and do my best to use them outside of sports. Karate for a while was the only athletics I did. I did do football for a year in 8th grade and I came to love it as well. In 9th grade I came to love tennis. It had became a passion for me; A way of life just like Karate. I am turely glad I decided to play the sport. Im am estaic every time I am able to get on a court. I think its an amazing sport. Just about anyone can play and it dosent require much. Tennis is a much of a mental game as its phyischal. To become good you must realize when to make a specific reaction to win the point. It requires quick movement and mental focus. I am very dedicated to improving as much as possible. I am willing to do the work it takes to get there. One exsamples to prove this is instead of going to the mall, movies, etc, whatever it is that others do on weekends I perfer to go hit. My dad would say "Is there any one who plays as much as you" I'd say" I dont know that but I cant get better by not playing".Those same charteristics from ealier can be learned in tennis In both Karate and Tennis I push my cohorts to keeping working hard and improving as a team.
Both academics and athletics are again important I believe. Without a little of both it I would say life is just hard to live. I plan to continue in both fields. As far as acedimcs I would love to work as a veternarian or in some form of history. In athletics, No matter what I plan to continue playing Tennis and doing Karate and see what I am able to do with it. They will always be a passion to me, so it takes no outside motivation.
