Personal Statement

I am currently a senior this year. I'm 6 ft,150 pounds. My freshman year my 4x8 team finished 2nd in state and I won the 4x8, 800m and finished 2nd in the 400m at our states freshman showcase and City meet. For my team, I won the most valuable Varsity Newcomer award. My sophomore year at state I finished 4th in the 800m, 2nd in the 4x8 and 4th in the 4x4. I also was the city champ in the 400m and represented the 400m for our 1st team all city. I also was a part of our 1st team all state in the 4x8 and recived MVP that year as well. Junior year I consistantly ran a 1:55 while battling nagging injuries. At state I took 1st in the 4x800 (7:49). With everything healed up and strengthened im ready to dive head first into senior year.

It will be near impossible to explain to you my dedication and drive for this sport on paper. I am extremley focused and self disciplined. I hold my self to the highest standard and am one of those people that will do whatever it takes, no matter the sacrafice, pain or hight it takes to get where I want to be. I'm the type of person a team can count on and look up too. I am a co-captian of the cross country and track team, and I lead our teams with the same mind set, goals and standards I hold myself to. I am always the first one to the track and the last one to leave.

I plan to go into pre-med and declare a major from there. I want to go to a school that has great coaching to get me where I want to be. I need someone who can help make me the best 800 meter runner. I not only want to run in college but proffesionally and make it to the olympics one day. Also feel free to see me racing on my youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/AZtrackandfield1/videos
