Carter Lindsay '16 Recruiting Profile

I started running track my freshman year in high school. I have been an athlete since I was 6 years old, playing, flag football, soccer, tennis, and basketball through my freshman year of high school. When I was in elementary and middle school I used to race my class mates just for fun and would often times win. I never considered that I would be able to have the level of track success what I have had so far. My official track experience began in my freshmen year when my peers and the track coach encouraged me to go out for the team. Well I did and made the varsity team. I have been on the varsity team for two years and I will continue to be. My freshman year I placed 5th at the state track meet with a time of 11.11 in the 100m dash and then my sophomore year I ran a 10.90 at the state prelims. In 2014 my 4x1 relay team came in first place at the state track meet and took home a gold medal with a time of 41.79. So far we hold the record for the 4x1 relay at my high school and I hope and pray that I can get the 100m dash record in the coming season as well as a few other records I am sure I could possibly set.
I have been a leader on the team selected by the coaches to be one of the team captains. I make sure that all of the track members including my fellow sprinters stay focused, both academically and athletically, so that everyone on the team can represent our sport and high school the best we can no matter where we are.
