Personal Statement
Since i began running my freshman year i began to develop a strong passion for the sport and I have made it a priority to run at the collegiate level. As a freshman my goal was to help any way possible for my high school team to succeed. In the recent past cross country was a struggling sport which found it extremely difficult to have complete team to score in racing and to ever qualify for the state championships. In my first year i began training over the summer and by the time the season came around I had become a bug part of the team as i was the teams second man. We imroved that year and finished with an 8-8 record but with not qualifying the team to state we were left with hunger and we formed a stronger team over the next year. My role at this point was captain and i lead a dedicated group of teammates into the most scucces for seasons we had seen yet. The next two seasons we finished off with 11-4 records. Fortunately there was a lot of room to improve and this final year we were able to accomplish our goal from the beginning and we were able to finish undefeated at 9-0 and qualified competitively at state. We were also able to win a few invitationals along the way.
In school i am also a competitive student and have managed to maintain a solid GPA of 3.64 while taking several AP classes. In college I plan to pursue a career in either architecture or civil engineering.
