Being a part of two XC CIF State contending teams has so far been the highlight of my running career. Not only has the opportunity to compete within high level events taught me about overcoming adversity, it has also helped me to grow mentally and physically. Once I had surpassed the mental competition, I had to learn to persevere. It is because of this that I am able to compete within the highest events of high school cross country/track and field.
I am ecstatic to be a part of a very rigorous and driven program. In 2014, I excelled in the CIF State Cross Country Championships where Agoura High School placed 2nd in Division 3. Through intense training, Agoura High School succeeded when returning to the CIF State Cross Country Championships in 2015 by placing 7th in Division 2. The following year was a great lesson in adversity for me, for although my 2016 track and field season proved successful, I had experienced negative effects due to the Porter Ranch Gas Leak (the source of the leak was roughly a mile from my home). During this season, Agoura participated in the Arcadia Invitational where I raced in the 4x800 Invitational Race and the 4x1600 Invitational Race. I also competed in the 4x1600 Invitational Race at the Mt. SAC Invitational where Agoura placed 2nd. I concluded my 2016 track and field season with an appearance at the CIF Southern Section Prelim where I ran my 3rd attempt at the 1600 and earned a personal best. Running at a high level of intensity and prestige for 3 years has inclined for the collegiate level. I am ready to contribute my leadership, academic, and athletic abilities to a program of best suited to me.
