I began running competitively during my freshmen year of high school and found it to be the most enjoyable aspect of my high school career. Initially I was just another runner, but during my sophomore year, I decided that I wanted to take running to the next level and began to put more heart into my sport. Though I have a strong focus on my academics, I place running close to as high in regards to my priorities. The most important lessons I have learned during my time as a Dana Hills runner involve the betterment of an individual as a whole rather than just an athlete, and I plan on using these lessons throughout my life in order to display character beyond that which is required of me. After completing one quarter of study at UCSD, I have felt an itch to return to the sport that shaped who I am, and I am, therefore, interested in continuing my running career.
