I have always been an athletic child. Looking back over the past 17 years, I had opportunities to play and compete in many different sports from karate and gymnastics to figure skating and football. It is because of this variety of sports that I developed a love of multi-sport events. During track season, I felt like I didn't have enough to do and I always wished I could compete in more than four events. It was because of this desire to do more that I decided to become a decathlete. As a Decathlete it is my goal to compete at the highest level nationally and internationally. I am looking for a college training program that will partner with me to achieve this goal and continue to challenge me as a student, competitor, and leader.
Competing has always been a passion of mine. No matter what the conditions are on the day I always see the opportunity as a blessing. Through Junior High and High School I have always trained very hard in and out of each season. Even though injuries have never been a problem for me, I have seen many teammates out for entire seasons. Therefore, I cherish any and all opportunities to train and to compete.
As for academics I know that learning is indeed another blessing, and I treat it as such. No matter if I am learning more about English or Math I maintain a positive attitude. I have always seen myself as a student-athlete and not an athletic student While athletic goals are extremely important to me I have been taught to keep them in their proper place as part of the greater pursuit of academic and professional achievement.
Competing at the collegiate level has always been a dream of mine. I desire to make myself into a stronger man physically and mentally. I know that the skills I learn in college will be present for the rest of my life, and I want to pick the college that will ultimately best equip me for the challenges I will face as life progresses.
