Tyler Short '16 Recruiting Profile

Hello! I am Tyler James Short and I am currently a Junior at Granite Bay High School in California. Sports have always been a huge part of my life. I have played football for the last 10 years and played basketball for 8 years. I first tried out Track and Field in 8th grade because I was hoping to increase my speed on the football field. I had no idea how much I would end up loving Track. Track has since become my passion. I love to compete and push myself as hard as I can in every race. When I am out on the track I just feel like it is where I belong. In my 3 years of doing Track and Field I have never missed a practice. And when I am training I always give my best effort because I know the work I put in to practice will only help me become an even faster sprinter. I like learning new things from my coaches and using the information to get even better. I appreciate any critiques or changes my coaches give me in order to help me get to the next level with the way I run and to become even faster. I know it will only help me become a better all-around sprinter and team member. I also enjoy being a part of a team and encouraging my fellow teammates to become the best they can be. I take Track and Field very serious, but when it comes to school, academics are by far my highest priority. If I am unable to compete in Track in college, I want to make sure that I can still get into the school I wish to attend through my academics. I feel I would make a great fit on any college Track and Field team, and I am excited to start talking with college coaches about different possibilities for my future in college Track and Field!
