Kaleb Reyes '14 Recruiting Profile

As a high school student, my dreams and aspirations have all centered around my future in athletics, my career, and my dream to serve in the United States Marine Corps. I was confused as to how I was going to be able to fulfill my dream of being a competitive collegiate athlete, getting the proper education for my future career, and still be able to serve in the military. I was ecstatic when I heard about the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps, (NROTC) and how this program would allow me to fulfill all my dreams. Since the NROTC program is a very selective and competitive scholarship opportunity I set my goals high for myself as a student, athlete, and a person.  My main goals were to remain an honor student, a competitive varsity athlete, and still be a helpful presence in my family and in my surrounding community. In my eyes there is always room for improvement and ways to go above and beyond the simple tasks of these goals. I believe that is what life's dreams, and specifically my dreams, are about; seeing your dreams, setting your goals, then reaching them and surpassing them everyday in a different way.
