Joseph Hammack '17 Recruiting Profile

I have always been a runner. When I was not able to walk, my parents pushed me around in a stroller during our races. I began running competitively in the seventh grade starting out with a 6:30 mile. Since then, I have been able to improve all the way to a 4:38, and I am not done improving yet. In addition, back in first grade, I was bumped up to second grade so I am year younger than the rest of the junior recruiting class, which means that I would be peaking later in college. I would be a good candidate for the the team because I am a determined athlete, and will see my tasks through to the end. I am an Eagle Scout, and I have earned 115 of Boy Scout's available 139 Merit Badges. In academics, I am in the top 3% of the school, and have been named to honor roll times. This is why I believe that I would be a good addition to your cross country and track programs.
