"To give anything less than your best, is to sacrifice the gift"...Steve Prefontaine
I am a runner who didn't know he was a runner. My journey began my freshman year at St. John Bosco. My coach, Tim McIntosh likes to joke that when I started, I couldn't run for more than 10 minutes without getting winded. All I knew was that I loved to run around and that I was fast. With a strong determination to mold my gift along with being trained by an amazing coach, I have been able to achieve a high level of success in a small amount of time. I have learned that the only way to ensure success is to put in the work and rack up the miles. This work ethic that I have developed has helped me to get to the level I am at now in academics as well as athletics. I want to use that same intensity and discipline to continue my journey at the collegiate level.
It is my goal to be able to attend a top university where I can continue my education that will lead to a productive career. I would like to use my running as a path to that goal. As a competitor, I aspire to be a top five performer in cross country and track for a squad that shares my desire to be the best. I feel that I am a good candidate for any elite team because I am driven to excel. What I may lack in years of experience compared to others, I make up for in determination, the willingness to learn, and help my team win! Commitment to one's team is essential both off and on the field of competition, which is why I feel that my friendly and loyal personality makes me ideal in a team sport environment. I believe that I have not reached the peak of my potential and look forward to the opportunity to explore how far this gift of mine can take me.
