Thomas Kruetzfeldt '16 Recruiting Profile

I am a very motivated athlete and scholar. I broke my high school record in the 800m as a sophomore with a time of 1:57.06. I have great coaches and trainers; specifically the legendary coach Glenn Bass and Darren Holman, who ran professionally at Nike for three years and qualified for the Olympics before becoming injured. I train hard and give running my all. I pay my respect towards my coaches, teammates, and the competition. I was awarded the varsity patch as a freshman twice, once in cross country and in track, and continue to receive them every year. I have also been awarded an "All League Award" for winning first in my league. I received the "Coach Rober" award which is awarded for "those athletes who most inspire the coaches by their work ethic, reliability and championship attitude". I always shake my opponents hand on the start and finish line of a race. Academically, I participate in honors, college prep, and AP classes. I achieved a grade point average between 3.3 and 3.5 throughout my sophomore year. I hope to do better this year and next, with my goal being a 3.5 g.p.a. or better despite my full, honors course roll, and busy training and competing schedule.  I also aim to better myself on the track with a goal in the 1600 of a 4:10 and a goal in the 800 of a 1:51. I believe with my progress thus far, and my great coaches and support group, that it is a very reachable goal. I am extremely motivated and have a strong desire to run, and run fast, in college.
