Throughout my life I have always been expected to try my hardest at anything I do, and I have learned that dedication and a good work ethic will make me become better at anything I do. I also play the alto saxophone, and playing an instrument has had a significant influence on my training mentality. Training for track requires dedication and repetition to make any improvement, and playing an instrument has really taught me that. For both activities, improvement does not come overnight; improvement comes with hours of consistent practice for many months and even years. Some people believe that doing something well once or twice is good enough, but I know improvement does not come easily. I push myself at every practice, because I know my body will not become faster unless I force it to undergo rigorous training each day.
I hope to get into a college that will also be able to push my academic capabilities, and test my work ethics. Doing well in my classes is the main priority, but I hope to compete athletically as well.
