Hello my name is Ryan Fox. I am in my Senior year at Danbury High School. I run Cross Country, Indoor Track and Outdoor Track. I have achieved my Varsity letter in both Indoor and Oudoor Track as a Freshman, Cross Country, Indoor Track, and Outdoor Track as a Sophomore,Junior., and Senior I specialize in distance running. I currently run a 4:26 in the 1 Mile Run, 9:28 in the 3200m, 15:35 in the 5000m (Track), 33:38 in the 10k (Road Race) and a 16:05 in the 5k (XC). I enjoy running and want to continue being competitive in college while earning my degree. I am a very dedicated runner. I run approximately 60 miles per week, and am constantly improving on my personal records. The programs of Track and Field and Cross Country at Danbury High School are some of the best in the nation, as they have won their conference 9 of the past 10 years and have competed in Nike Cross Nationals 3 times. I am proud to be a part of the program and wish to continue its legacy.
Some of my achievements include: Qualifying for and competing at AAU National Junior Olympics in New Orleans in the 3000m, qualifying for and competing in USATF Regional Junior Olympics in Cross Country, and qualified for and ran in my conference championship in the 3200m, during the indoor season. I have also qualified and ran the 3200m in my conference and state championships during my freshman outdoor season. Some of my goals include: getting under a 9:30 3200m, getting under a 15:45 5k, as well as bringing up my 90 academic average to a 95.
During my Sophomore season, I competed in the prestigious Race Of Champions at the Great American Cross Country Festival, and finished with a time of 16:45.6. I also helped the Varsity team to win the FCIAC Conference and Connecticut State Class LL championships, while earning 2nd Team All Conference with a 16:41. I also ran with my team at the NXN Northeast Regional Championship race. During my Sophomore Indoor and Outdoor seasons, I qualified and ran in the State Class LL Championships, winning my heat in the 3200m in the Indoor Championship.
During my Junior Cross Country season, my team finished second out of 20 teams in the State Class LL Cross Country Championships, third in the State Open Championships, and 7th out of 30 teams in the New England Championships. My Indoor Track team this year won the FCIAC Conference Championship followed by the CIAC Class LL State Championship and the Connecticut State Open Championship.
I have been named Captain of the Cross Country team for my Senior Year. Our team won the varsity race at the Amherst Invitational my Senior Year. Our team won our conference and CT State championships and I achieved first team all-conference by finishing 14th in our conference championship. Our team finished the season by finishing 2nd in the New England Championships. During my senior Indoor Season, our team won the FCIAC conference and CIAC Class LL State Championships for the 2nd year in a row.
