Personal Statement
I began pole vaulting in my freshman year and fell in love with it immediately. I was chosen as one of three athletes from a prospect of twenty-five other candidates. I cleared 10 feet as a freshman but hit a rut in my sophomore year and cleared 10'6. In summer of 2016 I began training with Daniel Ryland, former olympic athlete, and through relentless training he helped me to clear 14 feet at the end of my junior year. I am still training with him and have not lost my work ethic and plan to clear at least 15 feet before the end of the year.
