Personal Statement
I joined cross country in 7th grade with no expectation of how it would go. However, in the first race I ran in, I placed 9th overall with a time of 13:10 in the 2 mile while placing 1st for my team. At this moment, I knew running was a sport that I could be special in. I placed 1st every race for my team in middle school, and then I got to high school where I met the "big dogs." It wasn't until the last race of my freshmen season when I got my first top finish for the school in the 5K with a time of 17:52, dropping a full minute off my PR. At this time, I knew not only I could be special in running, but that I can take my talents to the next level.
