Personal Statement
Cross Country and Track is not just a sport to me it's a lifestyle. With growing up as a military dependent and have moved 15 times running has allowed me to be become involved in my community and school very quickly. With moving I have had the opportunity to learn from many different coaches and understand different styles. With that I have been able to be apart of many different team environments, which has taught the ability to adapt. The reason why I run cross-country is because the sport allows me to push my body and mind past the limits that others set for me. When I reflect on my six years of running I remember three different aspects of my life that running has effected: Exceeding expectations through self determination, the value to being part of a team, creating joy in the lives of others through team accomplishments. I aspire to continue this growth not only in speed but also in being a leader and developing my personal character by continuing to run at the college level. I want to be the best I can be on the cross country course and track. My goal is to not just to reach a certain race time or to place, but rather it's to break every limit that is set before me.
