I have long wanted to run at the collegiate level. I started running in sixth grade but didn't get serious about running in college until I was in 8th grade. Each year, as I continue to run cross country and track, my desire to compete in college grows. It is something that is very important to me. I love running and want to do that for as long as I possibly can. I enjoy being around my teammates and having the opportunity to compete with them. I like getting pushed to become a better runner as well as pushing my teammates to become better.
I don't just enjoy running, but I like playing basketball as well. I play basketball during the winter instead of running year-round. Playing basketball helps with my running and gives me a change of pace during the school year. Participating in three sports is a lot of work but I wouldn't be able to do that without good grades. I work hard all school year to finish with good grades. Being able to maintain good grades requires a lot of hard work. I apply that hard work into all aspects of my life whether that be mowing lawns, school, or athletics. Hopefully, I will be able to apply that hard work to run in college.
