Since my early years of high school I have overcome a lot physically to get to the point I am now. To put it simply, I started jumping sophomore year and lacked the explosive power other jumpers had. That didn’t stop me. I stuck with the program my coaches gave me consistently achieving new personal records throughout season and progressed to qualifying for National Junior Olympics at the end of my Junior year. I’m confident by putting in the work I will continue to make great strides.
Secondly, using my coach's advice and research that I have done, I created a strength training routine for this summer. While this routine has certainly helped me grow in strength and explosiveness it’s still a routine I put together myself. I am excited to see where I could go with coaches that bring my strength training to the next level.
Finally, I will be an asset in other ways as well. Throughout high school I have been part of the IB program, ending my junior year with a weighted GPA of 5.97 and an unweighted GPA of 3.69. Aditionally, for both my Junior and Senior year, I have served on the Leadership Team for my HS Speech Team. This past year, I finished 6th in the State and 46th in the Nation in the category of Extemporaneous Speaking. I look forward to continuing to excel as a scholar-athlete at the collegiate level.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I look forward to speaking with you in the future!
