Personal Statement

I am a 5” 11 runner from Havana, Illinois, home of the Ducks. This is my 3rd year running cross country and track in my high school career. In my sophomore year, I won my cross country regional with a time of 15: 47. Currently, I have a 3.7 GPA and take AP and dual credit classes. Running is a sport of hard work, determination, and of mental toughness. These characteristics describe my life not only on the track, but also in the classroom and with my summer job as a cattle ranch hand.

I am looking for a college anywhere in the United States where I can pursue a high quality education and excel in running in a cross country/track program. I am interested in pursuing a degree in agriculture or business. My strong work ethic and discipline as a runner would contribute greatly to your cross country/track team. I believe my best fit would be at the DII or DIII level. However, if my times continues to drop this year, I would like to purse DI level.

  • This race was an okay race for me. The coarse was moderatly hilly and there was not much competition. I ended up running a 16:00 3 mi .
