My name is Daniel Cheung. I am a distance runner, and I truly love the sports of Cross Country, and Track & Field. I competed for my schools varsity track team, running a PR of 4:43.9 in the mile at the sectional meet as a freshman. I am an extremely competitive person, and I love to learn about the sport. I am constantly setting goals in my head, and high goals at that. Ultimately, I would like to run sub 9 in the two mile before I graduate high school. But due to prevailing injuries that basically took me out of most of both sophomore and junior competition, the idea of accomplishing that goal is quickly fading. However Cross Country is about to start, and I am excited to kick off my final year with huge personal bests. My goal this season for XC is to qualify for the Illinois State Cross Country meet. I understand that I need to work as hard as I can, and there is no doubt in my mind that I am capable of doing so. I will make sure that I always give it my best.
