Personal Statement
I am looking for a program that will be a great fit for me academically, athletically and spiritually. I have the talent, character and work-ethic to compete for a college team. I want to make an immediate impact on your program. I have been competing in track since the seventh grade and have had success at all levels. I have been consistently competing in Varsity open events since my Junior year.

I won the 2018 NIB XII Indoor Conference Championship in the 60M, 200M and was on the conference champion 4x200M relay team. (2017, 2018). I finished 7th in the 200M and our 4x200m relay finished 7th at the 2017 Illinois Indoor Top Times Meet . In addition, I currently hold our Indoor school records in the 55M (6.65) (2018), 60M (7.11) (2018) and 200M (23.03) (2017).
Last season I qualified for the 2017 Illinois 3A Outdoor State Championships in the 100M finishing 10th and was also part of the qualifiying team for the 4x100M. Our 4x100M relay team finished 2nd at the 3A State Championships. I was fortunate enough to earn All State Honors. I have posted a (10.74) in 100M dash ( school record) and a time of (22.10) in the 200M dash. I won the NIB XII Conference Championship in the 100M, (2017), 200M, (2017) and was on the 4x100M & 4x200M NIB XII (2017) Conference Champion relay teams. I also earned team Sprint MVP Honors (2017 & 2018).
This season I finished second at NIB XII Conference Championship in the 100M, and first the 200M. In addition I was on the 4x100M & 4x200M NIB XII Conference Champion relay teams. I finished 3rd in the 100M, 200M and 4x100M relay at the Plainfield South IHSA 3A Sectional Meet. I was fortunate to qualify for the 2018 Illinois Outdoor 3A State Championships in the 100M & 200M.
My GPA is a 3.9 and I achieved the Award for Academic Excellence (2016, 2017, 2018), High Honor Roll (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018) and Academic All Conference (2016, 2017,2018). I scored a 1160 on my SAT. In addition to running track, I have played on the Varsity soccer team since my Sophomore year. Our team has excelled the past three years. In the fall of 2016 we won the NIB XII Conference Title for the second time in school history. I have been fortunate enough to receive Offensive Player of the Year Honors (2014), Coaches Award Honors (2015), X-Factor Award Honors (2016, 2017), Team Leadership Award (You'll Never Walk Alone) (2016), and was named to the NIB XII All Conference First Team for the 2016 season.
My involvement in sports limits my availability to participate in other after school activities. I am actively involved in our church youth group, a member of the National Honor Society and the Superintendent Student Advisors Council. I have volunteered at several events: Big Day of Serving (2014), Work Camp Racine, WI (2015), Cross Lutheran Church Thanksgiving meals (2013, 2014, 2015, team leader 2016, 2017), Elementary Summer School math helper (2015), Little Foxes Soccer Camp (2015,2016,& 2017, Yorkville Foxes Youth Track Camp 2015, Kendall County Food Pantry's Operation Santa (2014, 2015, & 2016).
Participating in sports has taught me the importance of developing relationships with coaches and teammates. I have learned so much about people and how to develop meaningful and positive relationships. These relationships are similar to what you will have to develop with your co-workers and managers. Track has always been about hard work . It provides an opportunity to set goals, deal with adversity, and overcome obstacles . I love to run and compete not only for the competition and excitement but it gives me an opportunity to see how I will respond in difficult situations.
My teammates and coaches have been like family. We share a willingness to work hard and a common love for the sport. Our team puts in the time and hard work on the track while also getting it done in the classroom. College sets the stage for the rest of your life and a program that understands that is the type of program that I am looking for. I want to continue to grow as a student athlete and be prepared for life after graduation.
