Personal Statement

I am currently ranked number 2 in my class and will graduate as Salutatorian. I had a great junior year track season. During my junior year in track I won the discus throw at the 2015 Goshen Relays and won our conference meet, both of which were season goals.  I also placed 3rd at the Penn sectionals and qualified for regionals but did not advance out of regionals.  During my upcoming senior year in track, my goal is to win discus sectionals, win the regional meet and qualify for state.  I also want to advance out of sectionals to regionals in shot put.  During the summer of 2015 I attended a couple of throws camp and look forward to implementing those improvements in the upcoming season.

During my senior year football season, our team advanced to the sectional final and just missed making it to regionals.  We had one of the most successful football seasons in our school history and I'm am very proud to have been part of that team.   We were like family and it's an experience I will never forget. I earned all-conference and all-state honors as an offensive lineman as well as academic all-conference.  I'm looking forward to having a successful basketball season as well before moving on for my final year of high school track.

My goal for college is to join a successful team where I can contribute as a thrower right away.  I am looking for a college with strong academics as well.  I am a hard worker, strong in technique and driven to achieve the goals I set for myself.  I am also a team player.  I believe my dedication and leadership will be an asset to any team.
