Personal Statement
Dear Coach,
Hello, I'm Robert Muse-Myers and I'm an incoming senior at Lebanon High School in Lebanon, IN. I compete in cross country and track for my high school and have been a varsity letterman since my freshmen year. Running has been an escape for me ever since I started in 6th grade. In 7th grade, my mother and father both passed away due to medical issues. This left me without a parental figure at 12, and I was clueless as to where I was going to live. However, a family member took me in and after 4 years I was moved into a new home that adopted me. Throughout this long and hard journey, my only solace has been running. I've always had a hard-working mentality, and I used the adversity as fuel to my fire to work even harder. I've always been a companionate teammate and friend to many of my peers, and have been trusted to be the team captain of the the cross country and track team since my freshmen year. I also was the freshmen and sophmore class president. I also volunteer my time in the Lebanon Youth Council and in the local Kiwanis chapter. Finally, I've always been a hard worker in the classroom, maintaining a high GPA and being recognized as academic all state honorable mention my junior year. I thank you for taking the time to read my personal statement and I would love to get in contact with you.
