Personal Statement
My name is Logan Hambrock, and I am a senior at Terre Haute South Vigo High School. I am looking to run track in college and obtain an athletic scholarship. Previously, I had been a state and midwest ranked tennis player, but after recording a 4:35 1600 as a freshman , I have decided to entirely focus on running. This last year has been my third year to solely concentrate on running. My PR's to date are : 4:25.35 in the 1600, and 1:59.42 in the 800 which was at the USATF Jr. Olympics Regionals, I also bench press 190 pounds. During this past school year, I ran the anchor on the 4x800 at the IHSAA state finals, and at the Hoosier State Indoors I ran the 1600 on the DMR relay. In June of 2012, I qualified for the state finals in the 1600. In the Milesplit U.S. Rankings for sophomores in the 1600 in 2011, I am ranked #74 indoors, and # 131 outdoors. In the recent indoor season I am ranked #57 in the mile indoor amongst Juniors. As a freshman I won the mental attitude award for track and field, and won the same award for Cross Country this past season. My GPA is 3.49, and I recently scored a 23 on my ACT test. My PR in cross country is 15:57.6, and I finished number 29 out of 194 runners at the 2012 Indiana State cross country finals (All-State Honorable Mention). My father was a scholarship Tennis player at Indiana State and my grandfather was an All- American Volleyball player at Florida State, and it has been a dream of mine to earn an scholarship and compete in college athletics. I enjoy running and training, and am very confident that I haven't come close to reaching my potential.
