JT Matthews '17 Recruiting Profile

I have been high jumping since I was in 6th grade and I've always since the very beginning had a desire to go to the highest level possible and compete in high jump events. I also know that not very many people get to compete in the collegiate sporting events and it would be a privilege to do so. I haven't had any formal training at all so my form is still edgy and not at the point it should be at yet but I am completely convinced we can change that with formal training in college. 

Academically I have a 3.0/4.0 GPA. I am most definitely trying harder then I ever have this year because I realize academics come first and athletics come second. Plus, at the end of college all you are going to have while working is the knowledge you gained throughout college and your reputation you have worked so hard for throughout the 4 years you have been there..

I would like to attend and be a part of a university that suits my academic and athletic aspirations and that allows me to compete at the highest level possible. Also, that I can push my self to achieve the highest GPA possible. I'm well respected by my coaches, peers, and family. I love high jumping more then anything it's my passion and I would love to be able to jump for as long as possible.
