When started running I did it for fun, and in 5th grade I started to compete. I always try to make my coaches happy with my improvement. When I was struggling in 8th grade to get my cross country time down, on the last meet my coach told me to leave it all out on the course. I won that race with the best time any coach there had seen all year. Now all I try to do is build my times off of what I had accomplished. I'm not worried anymore about getting first or last, all I want to do is do better than I did my last race.
I never realized that I could be doing what I love and what I believe I am great at in college until the end of my freshman year and half way through my sophomore. Now I have gotten myself into a state of mind that if I keep working harder and harder I could be someone that I thought I would never be five years ago. Running has changed how I think of people who work hard to achieve what people say they can't, it has changed me into one of those people.
In the beginning of my sophomore year my left knee was injured due to training in wrong shoes and I was out for four weeks, those were the worst weeks of my life. Running and racing has become a part of my life so much I almost rely on it to live, I love it just as much as my friends and family. In college I want to improve in any way possible. I want to be better than I ever thought I could be, both personally and athletically. If I find myself outside my comfort zone, it is my job to make that area my comfort zone. I will keep the state of mind of what my coach Andy Livorno says to me and my team every season "The body achieves what the mind believes".
I am open to any school across the country that has a good Computer Science or Computer Engineering program.
