Personal Statement
I am a reliable, self-motivated, and confident young man that interacts well with coaches, teachers, teammates, and other students. My love for throwing events began in middle school when I signed up for the 8th grade track and field team. Now as a junior, I am learning 2 more implements.
I feel that much of my personal development can be attributed to my involvement in sports. Being on a team gives you a unique perspective of how other's think and react. On the field, we're all moving as one toward a common goal, regardless of our backgrounds, ethnicities, class rank, or hair color. We celebrate our wins, and wallow in losses, together as a team.
Off the field I put in the time too. I've been in high ability classes since 3rd grade and enjoy the challenges they bring. Even with dual credit and AP classes, I have maintained a 3.8 GPA (unweighted), putting me in the Top 10 of my class.
My perfect college will offer a competitive track and field program where I can contribute to the success of the team. The school will also offer the challenging coursework needed as a pre-med student.
