Personal Statement
I am an aspiring track athlete from Hamilton, New Zealand. I have a goal of running for a DI college and completing a degree at university.
I believe that I am a good candidate for a college team because of my discipline and hard work. Since I train by myself, I've learned to take full responsibility for my athletic performance and training. Training alone has given me the space and focus to practice training like a professional athlete, something that I think makes me unique and attractive as a potential recruit. I look forward to training with a team of like-minded athletes in college and pushing myself and my team to become better athletes and people.
Something that sets me apart from most distance runners is that I run Steeplechase. In December 2022, I won the National Champs 2000m steeplechase in a time of 5:55.35. I also have strong academics, I have been a part of my school's maths team every year of high school and middle school, I am currently a part of my school's voluntary tutoring initiative, I have a GPA of 4.0 this year and I scored 1380 for SAT.
My Goals as a college athlete are to win an NCAA title and to make my country's Olympic team for the 2028 LA Olympics.
