Personal Statement
Theuns has done athletics since the age of 9 years. He has been in the cross country team in Primary school and competed on for his province at the Nationals for 3 years in a row. In High school he started specializing in middle distance running. He has won the Schools Nationals and Club Nationals in 2013 in the 800m. In 2015 he has won the Schools Nationals in the 400m and the Club Nationals for the 800m. He has been included in the SA National team. He has competed in the African Champs and came 4th in the finals. He also competed in the World Youth Championship in Columbia and came 5th in the finals with a PB of 1:49....
Their school has also done an Europian athletic tour in July 2015 and he has won the French Youth Nationals as well as competed in the Seniors race in Olton Switserland with a 1:49... He is very dedicated and if he puts his head in the game... He will succeed...
Theuns has been awarded the Sport man of the year at their school in 2013. (High School Eldoraigne) He has been awarded the middle distance runner in 2013 and 2014. He has been the victor ludorum in 2014 at there school. In there local Interschools athletic meating in February 2015 he has won the 400, 800 and 1500 m for Boys Under 17. There are 7 schools competing in the interschools A leage meeting. Each school has about 1800 children and has an athletic team of about 100 kids. He's also been part of the relay team for his school and for his province this year.
