Personal Statement
I grew up as a multi-sport athlete and have always been competitive against other people as well as with myself to get better each day. Athletics are very important in my life and I strive to be the best I can. I started running track in 6th grade. However I didn't run hurdles until 7th grade year, thats when I fell in love with hurdling. I competed in hurdles my 8th grade year as well, however my freshman year I played baseball instead of track. My sophomore year I decided to do track again because I realized I liked it so much more. My sophomore year I four stepped each hurdle. It wasn't until my junior year that I started three stepping which dropped 2.5 seconds off my time.
Through my sport I have learned I love to compete against others and myself and track is the best way for me to do that. I also learned that with hard work and dedication you can truly become good at whatever you love. I hope to graduate highschool with a 3.9. I will endorse in sports medicine through the 21st program at my school. In college I want to major in Kinesiology. I am an extremely dedicated athlete and once I set my mind to something I will accomplish that goal. I'm willing to work and do whatever it takes to compete at the college level.
