Personal Statement
My name is Trevor Ciempa and I've been involved in athletics my whole life, but I found my passion in seventh grade when I joined the Cross Country team. I've always enjoyed to be challenged and to challenge myself. Cross Country running and Track and Field put me to the ultimate test; requiring me to have incredible endurance, ability to maintain speed, and dig deep inside when most have nothing left. I have been a state qualifier for the past three years and have been running in the top pack in my county for the past four years in Cross Country. My passion for running only grew stronger when I competed in track and field in the spring. I am a 400 meter, 800 meter, 4X800 meter, and high jumper for my track and field team. Being undefeated in my county in the 800 and winning the divisional meet with a 2 two flat is a spectacular feeling, but nothing that can measure to the bliss I get from high jumping. That moment when 5'11'' Trevor Ciempa jumped and landed at the mat looking up at the 6'2'' set bar was one of the most memorable moments of my life. Even though I am happy with my accomplishments, I am truly never satisfied. I believe that the sky is the limit and I am willing to do anything it will take to be the best. I have a great work-ethic and I proudly never give up. Running is my life and I want to raise the bar and go to the next level by competing at the college level. Not only am I hard working on the track, I am dedicated in the classroom as well. I am planning majoring in Civil Engineering and taking part in the ROTC Program in college. I want to go into the service as an officer immediately after I graduate. I have many goals in college. I want to be active in the college community and become a student-athlete. My goal in life is to change the world by helping people one at a time. I plan on doing this by being a Civil Engineer and by also fighting for our country as an enlisted officer in the service.
