Personal Statement
Dedication is what makes me belong on your cross country team. Leicester boys cross country has a current record of 1-20 since the re-creation of the new team, after 25 years, in 2013. My point is, even though we don't often win I always continue pushing myself as an athlete and will become a great recruit. Being on Leicester cross country has taught me even when losing there is still motivation left to help improve. Sophmore year my time started around 24:00 and now my pr is 17:58 for a 5k. My goal for last season was to break 19:00, and I ended up crushing it. If my team loses, I do not quit. If my team wins, I do not slack off... I continue to give all my effort and motivate not only myself but also the rest of the team. In the past two years of cross country I have had two different coaches and have been informed we are getting another new one for next season. Some people would look at that as a disadvantage but it has kept me on my toes and I have learned countless numbers of things from them, and even from coaches of other teams. I am physically and mentally capable of becoming a college recruit because I not only have the effort but also the grades needed to guarentee my spot on most teams as I am carrying an average grade of 85.
