So far in my high school career I have both played varsity football and been a top performer in indoor and outdoor track and field. By playing football I have endured many losses and fought through long seasons, which has only built my character and displayed my resilience and persistence. Also It has made me a better teammate, supporting others and motivating them to do better. Academically I have challenged myself by enrolling in both Honors and AP classes, though my grades may not reflect the work I put in to my schoolwork, but I do always put my best foot forward in everything I do and Academics are no exception. For track and field, I have learned to be a fierce competitor by virtue of circumstance. For both my Freshman and Sophomore years I had to compete against the a very talented rival from the town over. He was the Massachusetts and New England Champion for the 100m and 55m dashes, racing against him has made me run faster and given me attainable goal to strive for because he is two years my senior. Relays are another set of events I enjoy and perform well in, I have become very close friends with those on my 4x400m team and still stay in touch with those who have graduated, in indoor we placed 3rd in the state meet and 5th in the New England meet. At track meets I am very sociable, I always try to befriend my competitors and congratulate them after finishing because I value good sportsmanship in all athletic events. Overall, I feel that I have performed well for my age and am ready to work hard to prepare myself for competition at the next level and hopefully you will see that hard work pay off in my upcoming years in high school.
