Personal Statement
This year, (my junior year of high school) was the first time I tried track and field. I had been running cross country since middle school and achieved success there qualifying for states my junior year. I was excited to start excelling in the hurdle events, with my passion growing as my season progressed. With a lot of room to improve, I plan to continue my track career after high school. I have accomplished many things this season, placing 2nd in my region in both the 110 and 300 m hurdles and 12th at states. I'm very interested in doing a double major, or major-minor in pre-medicine and music. I've played classical guitar for 3 years and have accomplished great things so far. I made the state competition for classical guitar but I missed it so I could compete in the county track meet.
On another note, I've participated as a volunteer in humanitarian medical/dental missions in Latin America with The Healing Hands Foundation.
