Running is my life, I have always known this, but running xc and track has reaffirmed this. I had a very sub-par freshman season and didn't even make the top 7 on my team the go to states for cross country. I started training that offseason and will peak at 50 miles this summer.
After starting to train 30 miles a week freshman year I saw great results in track and this success translated to xc as my team was able to go to All States for the first time and I was all-conference as my team won the league title for the first time in ages. I will continue to try and lower my PR's through my running and strength training in the offseason and increase my mileage. Although my times aren't crazy my work and dedication have allowed for me to make huge jumps in my times. My first race freshman year I ran a 5:45 and my current PR is 5:02. My training partner Ned Farrington had times similar to mine his sophomore year and his dedication to this training plan has allowed for him to have PR'S of 4:39 and 10:11 after his junior season. My goals for my senior year would be to get my school record in the mile 4:34 and to break 9:30 in the two miles and go to nationals. My father, Joseph Carroll who helps in my training was all-conference steeplechase in college and an elite runner. If I am able to run for your team I will show you my unparalleled dedication and love for the sport. Being able to run in the northeast has made me very tough and I think that would translate well to college running. My goal would be to run DI in college. I am willing to redshirt for the right school.
