Kyle Jones '15 Recruiting Profile

I am a Senior at North Point High School and Track is my favorite sport. I am continuing to improve my performance for the remainder of the 2013 outdoor season. My goal is to set new personal records in the 300 meter hurdles during the upcoming SMAC, Regional and State Championships. Since this is my senior year, I want to go all the way to Nationals. I recently ran at the Penn Relays in the High School Boys 400 meter hurdles and I clipped a hurdle pretty bad in the curve robbing my expected 54 time - resulting in a 56.56. Although last Summer, I ran with the Comets of Charles County Track Club and obtained a 54.42, I feel good about my training this past Spring 2013. I believe I have what it takes to run a low 38. This year I have learned to clear the hurdle with my left lead also to help me in the curves of the 300 meter hurdles but my form is still a work in progress. My main goal is to be able to clear the hurdle without breaking my pattern. I have learned many lessons about what it takes to compete and train hard at a higher level. I am seeking a track scholarship with a NCAA Division I college. Academically, I plan to finish the year with a 3.5 GPA. Upon graduation, I will have successfully completed all Business courses achieving a Business Certificate. I have decided competing at the highest level is very important to me while I pursue a BS degree in Accounting. I ultimately want to run in the Olympics in 2016.
