I am a junior xc and track runner at Park Hill South High School in Riverside, Missouri. We got a new head coach this year for xc and I have seen immense improvement in my times and my running strategy this season. I have dropped over 2 minutes off of my 5k time in the last year and peaked at the end of the season with a PR of 18:17. I have also maintained a 3.5 GPA including several AP classes.
As a junior, I was voted co-captain by my teammates and coaches. I feel like I am a good leader and I have really loved supporting our young and talented team this season. We have a sophomore on our team who broke the school record and I have helped bring him out of his shell and use the whole team to support his running and his success. Being a captain helps me contribute more than just my running time. It has really helped me grow my love for the sport and I am even considering coaching in the future. I have coached my younger brothers flag football team for several years and I really love coaching.
I am excited to start track season and have set some very specific goals for myself for this track season to set me up for my senior running seasons. I would love to be considered for your team.
