I've only been doing track for about a year now and it's something I've grown to love very quickly. I 7th grade a lot of my friends were doing track and cross country but I wasn't doing anything i knew that i wasn't a distance runner so when track season came around during my 8th grade I signed up for the track team at the high school I was going to (Washburn high school). Me being an 8th grader I didn't expect to run but to my surprise, I ended up running quite a bit even at the conference meet which got me a varsity letter. And even though I was fast I was fast for an 8th grader and struggled a lot a the varsity level. But throughout the year, I've worked on speed in other sports to prepare me for track and I have cut major time of my old personal record to get what I have today. And every day I'm working hard in hopes to go to state
